Just thought I'd share something I learned recently. Birds need a certain amount of fiber in their diet. Who knew? Not me, so I thought maybe others didn't as well. Good, safe sources of fiber include certain cereals (like unfrosted shredded wheat, chex cereal) or crackers like wheat thins. You would probably have to ask C C what the recommended daily amount is, but we've been doing about 3 times a week for our fid.

Every time I feed my fids their mash, a mixture of rices, beans, dry oatmeal, vegs., pasta, etc. I always serve some type of cereal, they love plain cherrios.
